Comoros Islands: Anjouan City, Black Sand Beaches, Food & Fragrance Tour from Anjouan

Comoros Island Tour | Anjouan

Anjouan Ancient City and Medina of Mutsa, Domoni, and Flavors & Fragrances Tour  (With Local Lobster Lunch and Dining on the Black Sand Beach!)

We start up the day with a pickup at your chosen hotel anywhere in Anjouan Island and briefing by our staff, after breakfast, and head to visit the medina of Mutsa and do a little hike in the heights of the maze to see a panoramic view of the whole medina

From here we spend a day staging a soiree and outing to moya plage (enjoy the great lobster meal + grilled fish) and visit the city of millennial Domoni and carved doors and crafts. See the domain of the Comorian sultans and the plantations of Comorian perfumes and spices (and beautiful black sand draped with green) of the isle and seashore, exploring with a veteran local guide in the archipelago.

TOUR ITINERARY:

We will start at any hotel of your choice on the island, and head to the village of Domoni, where we will spend the day rounding the sites and delights of the "island of perfume," seeing the Medina of Mutsa and some of the ylang ylang, vanilla, and other endemic plantations of Anjouan, taking a happy hiatus for the lobster lunch on a black sand (volcanic sand) beach, so bring as much water as you may need for the day and any snacks.

A lot of totally endemic plants and birds, all rare by their very essence of evolving on a remote detached island, live within the forest. We will try to spot them in the woods and slopes and beachside today as we go.
