La Digue is the third largest island of Seychelles. The island is packed with history and culture, offering remnants of the first settlers with a history that stretches back over 200 years. 

To some, La Digue can seem like a town frozen in time. The atmosphere of the island is extremely laid back and welcoming. The preferred mode of transportation on here is bicycle only adding to the calmness of the island. The island has a sort of charm that is not found in many places these days. It is a wonderful place to explore, relax, and enjoy the present.

Itinerary:

Today is essentially yours to explore La Digue island. Today the tour will commence from your location on Mahe around 6: 30 am. If you're not located on Mahe, pickup can be arranged from nearby islands upon request.

La Passe village is home to the majority of people who live here and hosts a beautiful little harbor. The island boasts an incredible amount of Creole architecture including sites such as L'Union Estate and the Copra Mill. 

Creole architecture is mainly characterized by large double doors and windows, as well as high peaked rooves, to allow for ventilation and lighting. Creole architecture dates back to the colonial era and is something to really appreciate. There are many examples of these types of buildings being torn down due to wear and tear, however, there are many working to protect and restore as much of the history as possible before it is too late. 

One can simply not be on La Digue without taking in Anse Source d'Argent - the most photographed beach in the world! 

Anse Source d'Argent  is sheltered by a reef and as a result, offers very calm and shallow waters. It is not unheard of for travelers to want to stay at this beach forever! While this beach, in particular, is a must see there are many other spectacular beaches for you to ride your bike to today. Some of the more popular ones are Anse Pierrot, Anse Severe, or Anse Cocos.

Today you have the option of taking the reigns and following your heart, or your bicycle, around the island and stopping as you please. Or should you desire a little more direction and recommendations we are more than happy to help!

Although lunch is not included today, there are plenty of delicious spots to stop in for lunch today and enjoy traditional Creole food.
